Business Set to Thrive at World Future Energy Summit 2010
Significant interest from the alternative and renewable industry looks set to grow the World Future Energy Summit 2010 by some 60%. Siemens, General Motors, BP, Statoil Hydro, Suntech Power and MASDAR will all be exhibiting next January and look likely to spearhead further development of this emerging industry hub in Abu Dhabi.
Key developments in the run up to next year’s show have been seen in the number of ‘national pavilions’ being booked. The pavilions typically host technology firms with leading clean tech products and the UK, USA, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Italy, China, Japan, Taiwan, Denmark have all expected to participate.
Solar continues to be a big area of interest in the Middle East region. Over 30 companies are expected to test the market at the summit with leading industry contenders, REC from Norway and Applied Materials from the US, joining Abu Dhabi heavy-weight MASDAR.
Commenting on the mix of industries, Gary Gilmour, Sales Director for Turret Middle East, said “There is a big mix currently signed up. We’ve seen a diverse mix of financiers, energy, manufacturers, builders and automotives booking space and set to do business here next January.”
